This LOCUS Booster Training is designed for Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health Directly Operated clinics to reinforce core concepts of the LOCUS assessment and support consistent, high-quality application in clinical practice. The session will revisit key scoring domains, highlight the role of clinical judgment, and address common challenges identified through ongoing implementation. Participants will have the opportunity to deepen their understanding of the LOCUS as a tool to better inform level of care decisions. Due to Continuing Education being awarded with this training, YOU MUST HAVE YOUR CAMERA ON WITH YOUR FACE VISIBLE FOR THE ENTIRE TRAINING.
Target Audience
DMH DIRECTLY OPERATED STAFFOBJECTIVES
1. Increase understanding of LOCUS domains and scoring criteria to support accurate and consistent assessments.
2. Describe the role of clinical judgment in interpreting LOCUS results and determining appropriate levels of care.
3. Identify and address common scoring challenges and areas of variance observed across Directly Operated clinics.
4. Explain LOCUS scoring through a case-based example to improve real-world decision-making and confidence in assessment practices.
