Description
The Trauma Symptom Checklist for Young Children (TSCYC) is a 90-item caretaker report instrument developed for the assessment of trauma-related symptoms in children ages 3 – 12. It contains two reporter validity scales and eight clinical scales. The scales allow a detailed evaluation of posttraumatic stress symptoms and a tentative PTSD diagnosis. It also provides information on other symptoms such as anxiety, depression, anger and abnormal sexual behavior.
Target Audience
Clinical staff who are trained in the evidence-based practice of Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) as well as those that provide support for practice (data entry, supervisor, case managers, etc).OBJECTIVES
- Demonstrate an understanding of the TSCYC
- Administer the TSCYC with fidelity
- Practice scoring and interpretation of the TSCYC
- Explain the clinical utility of the TSCYC
- Complete questionnaires according to LACDMH’s protocol for PEI outcome data collection
